About

Dr. Eric Tham is an experienced data science and finance professional with more than 16 years of experience in the financial industry. He mixes practicum with his personal working experience in the fintech and finance sectors.

He has a passion to groom and train the next generation of data science professionals. 

He is also a regular speaker at the local and regional data science and finance conferences, speaking at Risk.Net, AI in Finance, Strata conferences etc. 

His articles have been published in the Journal of Behavioral Finance, Journal of Financial Research and the OPEC Energy Review.

His research interests are at the intersection of behavioural finance and AI/ML, and have been presented at the American Economics Association (AEA/AFA) meetings, Miami Behavioral Finance conference, the European Financial Management Association (EFMA) meetings, the Australasian Banking and Finance conference (ABFC) and the Risk managment conference at NUS.

His recent research is on carbon pricing in climate change related topics.

Eric received his B.Eng(HONS) in Chemical Engineering and MS Business Analytics from the National University of Singapore, MS Financial Engineering from Columbia University, and a Phd in Finance from EDHEC Business school.
