Dr WANG Pengji is an Associate Professor in Business at James Cook University Singapore Campus. She obtained her PhD in Strategy and Policy at National University of Singapore. She has been teaching and doing research on digital marketing, sustainable marketing, strategy, and leadership of firms. She has published her research work in academic journals and books and served as the Associate Editor for Journal of Tropical Futures. She is also leading or involved in projects with various industry stakeholders, such as World Wildlife Fund, AustCham and Mandai group.
Being an active researcher, Dr Wang has a strong methodological focus – she is well versed at employing different research methods (e.g., archival data, field survey and interview) and analytical approaches (e.g., Panel data regression, HLM, SEM, factor analysis, clustering analysis, and other quantitative approaches.) to address such issues. Her works have been published in Global Environmental Change, Journal of Business Research, International Business Review, Journal of Business Ethics, International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, Corporate Governance: An International Review, etc.
Due to her academic excellence, she received the Research Excellence Award in 2021, Best Researcher Award and Best Academic Award in 2016 at at James Cook University Singapore Campus. Her paper "What do people “like” on Facebook? Content marketing strategies used by retail bank brands in Australia and Singapore" received the 2021 Australasian Marketing Journal Best Paper Award.
She was also invited to lecture on International Business Strategy in Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University.
Currently, she is supervising PhD students on projects on Retail Branding, Live-stream e-commerce, Corporate Social Responsibility, Technology and HRM, and Circular City management.
