Health Professional Education Program
Led by Professor Melanie Birks, this program aims to improve the delivery of teaching and the student experience of learning in the Discipline of Nursing, Midwifery and Nutrition and across the College of Healthcare Sciences at James Cook University.
Contemporary issues are considered both in terms of discovering new knowledge and evaluating the outcomes of proven methods of teaching and learning in the context of our place in the world: tropical, rural, and remote Australia.
The program will:
- Implement and evaluate evidence based changes to teaching and learning in nursing and midwifery
- Develop innovative, sustainable curriculum for nursing and midwifery education
- Increase the capacity of new academic staff members in conducting research
If you are interested in conducting research in the field of teaching and learning please contact
