accuCLIM 30-year average Bioclimate Time Series: Accurate, high-resolution, mapped climate data for the Australian Wet Tropics World Heritage Area

A time series of 30-year average bioclimatic temperature variable maps at 5-year intervals from 1965 - 2000. Data are mapped at 0.0025 degrees (~250 meters) spatial resolution and cover the entire extent of Queenslands Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. A large, independently collected set of weather data was used to spatially downscale AWAP daily weather layers of temperature maxima and minima to 0.0025 degree resolution as a function of key topographic and vegetation factors. These downscaled weather layers were then aggregated to form the accuCLIM bioclimate variables; see the associated research publication at http://dx.doi.org/10.1111/ddi.12068

The following are descriptions of the 7 bioclimatic variables calculated for each 5-year period in the time-series: accuCLIM_O1 = Mean Annual Temperature accuCLIM_O2 = Mean Diurnal Range (Mean of monthly (max temp - min temp)) accuCLIM_O3 = Isothermality (accuCLIM_O2/accuCLIM_O7) (* 100) accuCLIM_O4 = Temperature Seasonality (Coefficient of Variation) accuCLIM_O5 = Mean Max Temperature of Warmest Month accuCLIM_O6 = Mean Min Temperature of Coldest Month accuCLIM_O7 = Temperature Annual Range (accuCLIM_O5-accuCLIM_O6) The time series is contained within a single .zip file. Maps of bioclimatic variables are recursed in directories by year (mid-year for the 30-year average). File names also include the mid-year for the period of climate averaging; so the file '1965/accuCLIM_01_1965.tif' represents Mean Annual Temperature for the 30-year period 1951 - 1981. The file '2000/accuCLIM_05_2000.tif' would represent Mean Max Temperature of the Warmest Month for the 30-year period 1986 - 2015, and so on.
