Dr. Aaron Drovandi is a graduate of the Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm), Master of Pharmaceutical Public Health (MPharmPH), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs at James Cook University. His primary area of research is tobacco control, with his thesis project investigating how health warnings on tobacco products can be improved to reducing the prevalence of tobacco use amongst the Australian population, particularly adolescents and young adults.
He has several years of teaching experience in the BPharm and MPharmPH programs at James Cook University, as well as experience in teaching postgraduate Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. His primary teaching areas include musculoskeletal pharmacy, substance abuse, and clinical counselling.
Aaron is also an immunising pharmacist, and was involved with the Queensland Pharmacist Immunisation Pilot (QPIP) for the 2 years it was run in Queensland, and acted as a Project Officer responsible for providing support and direction to the North Queensland pharmacies that participated in the pilot.
