Dr Blackman is an experienced Associate Professor with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in E-Learning, Career Development, Coaching, Data Analysis, and Research Design. She is a strong education professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focused in Business Coaching from James Cook University.  Dr Anna Blackman’s areas of expertise include business coaching, Human Resource Management, Business Management, Rural and Regional Leadership and using technology for innovative teaching techniques. She has published her work in journals, book chapters, case studies and presented at local, national and international conferences and forums. She has over 40 research outputs. She has successfully won a number of competitive grants (one being JCU’s Rising Star ECR Leadership Program) and a citation for outstanding contributions to student learning. Anna was the Associate Dean Research (ADR) for the College of Business, Law & Governance (CBLG) at JCU from 2017-2019, she is also a member of the JCU Research Committee. Anna is also a Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), a Cairns Institute Fellow and is on the National ABDC (Australian Business Deans Council) BARDsNET (Business Academics Research Directors Network) Executive. She is currently the Vice President of Research for the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) Asia Pacific Region and is an alumni of the Future Shapers cohort from Australian National University (ANU). Anna is also a member of the International Centre for Democrtic Parternships - Pacific Dialogues.  She is a member of the Universities Australia Executive Women Goup (UAEW). Anna has held positions as a Qld State Councillor for AHRI (2012-2016), the Townsville Australian Institute of Management (AIM) Committee, been a judge for the Management Excellence Awards for AIM and served as an advisor to the Young Managers Advisory Board for AIM.
