Dr Anna Blackman is an Associate Professor of Business at James Cook University (JCU) whose areas of expertise include Business Coaching, Human Resource Management, Business Management, Rural and Regional Leadership and Technology for Innovative Teaching. Skilled in E-Learning, Career Development, Coaching, Data Analysis, and Research Design she has over 40 academic and practitioner research outputs.
She is a Certified Academic Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), a certified trainer of the DISC personality profiling tool (a personal assessment tool used to help improve teamwork, communication, and productivity in the workplace). A Cairns Institute Fellow and has experience on the National ABDC (Australian Business Deans Council) BARDsNET (Business Academics Research Directors Network) Executive. She is the current Vice President of Research for the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) Asia Pacific Region and is an alumna of the Future Shapers cohort from the Australian National University (ANU) (a cohort of emerging Australian leaders). As well, Dr Blackman is a member of the International Centre for Democratic Partnerships - Pacific Dialogues. She is also a member of the Universities Australia Executive Women’s Group (UAEW) and is a Qld State Councillor for AHRI. In the past she has been a part of the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) Committee, been a judge for the Management Excellence Awards for AIM and served as an advisor to the Young Managers Advisory Board for AIM. At JCU Dr Blackman has served as Associate Dean Research (ADR) for the College of Business, Law & Governance (CBLG) and is a current member of the JCU and CBLG Research Committees.
