Associate Professor Heather Winskel is in the Psychology discipline within the School of Social and Health Sciences. She has a B.Sc. (hons) from Sussex University and a PhD from Durham University, UK. Prior to working at JCU Singapore, she worked at Southern Cross and Western Sydney Universities in Australia. She has also worked at the Open University and Birmingham and Edinburgh University in the UK, Prince of Songkla, Chiang Mai and Chulalongkorn Universities in Thailand.
Associate Professor Heather Winskel has expertise in psycholinguistics, cognitive, developmental, cross-cultural, experimental and educational psychology. This includes research on different languages and language development, bilingualism, reading and writing in different writing systems, and cross-cultural and experimental psychology research. She has been extensively involved in collaborative research in the South and South-east Asian region with colleagues at various universities and educational institutions.
