- Helen is a Gold member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and is a current committee member of the National Musculoskeletal Group of this Association. Helen is also a member of Sports Medicine Australia and is a qualified Tai Chi for Health instructor.

- Helen has fulfilled all requirements for PhD titled ‘Specific Physiotherapy Management of Subacromial Shoulder Impingement'. Helen's research interests include musculoskeletal interventions, ergonomics and clinical education.

- In addition, Helen currently coordinates and lectures post graduate Masters in Rehabilitation subjects in Ergonomics and Advanced Musculoskeletal Practice, presents an ergonomics module to second year physiotherapy students, provides expert shoulder lectures to third year and Master's physiotherapy subjects and assists with first year physiotherapy tutorials.

Dr Helen Land (BAppSc(Physiotherapy), GradDip Ergonomics, PhD) is a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Educator in Physiotherapy in the College of Healthcare Sciences at JCU.
Helen Land is a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist with more than thirty years’ experience. Graduating from Curtin University in Western Australia in 1986, Helen operated a successful private physiotherapy practice for over twenty years providing services to both the sporting community and heavy industry. Through her knowledge and skill in Ergonomics she provided site visits to mines, sugar mills and the construction industry.
In 2008 Helen established the JCU Undergraduate Musculoskeletal Clinic to meet the core competency musculoskeletal requirements of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy Degree at JCU. Helen has been a musculoskeletal clinical educator at this clinic since its inception and continues in this role along with performing clinic management and teaching duties.
