Dr. Jacob Wood is currently working as a Senior Lecturer of International Business at James Cook University, Singapore. With a PhD in International Studies majoring in International Trade, Dr. Wood has more than 10 years experience working in South Korea where he has held roles as an Assistant Professor at Korea University of Technology and Education and then more recently as an Assistant Professor of Asia Business at Chungnam National University.

Dr. Wood's research interests focus on issues in the fields of international trade, in particular, the effect of non-tariffs on trade flows, and the role of domestic politics in free trade negotiations. He has also published several works on employee engagement and the analysis of financial performance in North American e-commerce businesses. He is also interested in the concept of social networks analysis and has published several studies in the Journal of Scientometrics.

Dr. Wood is also currently the Primary Investigator for a Korean National Foundation supported grant on the effect of non-tariff barriers in Asia. He is the co-founder of the Centre for International Trade, Economic Policy, and Business in Asia (CITEPOBA). He is also a Fellow at the Cairns Institute.
