I joined JCU in 2014 as Research Officer. Prior to this I was employed in the Faculty of Business at CQ University. I have enjoyed 'jumping ship' from business research to the field of medicine - much more fun!

My PhD, which was completed in 2010 looked at people's motivations for giving money to charities, trying to understand what drives different types of people to give to different types of charities. Publications prior to my appointment at JCU focussed on the marketing of charities, branding and marketing communications, relationship marketing and trust.

I support the research work of the clinicians and medical students at JCU Mackay campus. I work with the honours students assisting with their projects and currently co-supervise two of these. I am actively involved in the assessment of the students within the Honours program.

Within the research skills training scheme I run seminars on research design and quantitative analysis. I am currently a co-author on a Cochrane Systematic review (Topical antibiotics for preventing surgical site infection in wounds healing by primary intention) and an associate investigator on an NHMRC grant proposal (Do prophylactic antibiotics prior to skin excision surgery significantly reduce the incidence of surgical site infection in the lower limb).
