About

Dr Jiajia Yang received his B.E. degree from Northeast Electric Power University, China, M.E. degree from Zhejiang University, China, and Ph.D. degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in 2011, 2014 and 2018 respectively, all in electrical engineering. 

He is an experienced power network modelling and planning professional with both industrial and research background in the Australian power energy industry.

He was as a Senior Research Associate at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), on research topics including power system operation and optimization, smart grid, electricity markets, network modelling/planning for renewable integration.

He also worked in the frontline of energy transitions in Australia, as a Senior Power System Analysis Engineer and providing technical support to multiple flagship Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) programs and Transmission Network Planning projects. 

He is a Senior Member of IEEE.

Dr Jiajia Yang joined James Cook University, Townsville, Australia in 2023 as a Senior Lecturer in renewable energy and electrical engineering.
