- Professional interests are mainly in the areas of health system strengthening, primary health care and in immunization. I have particular interest in the polciy and research connections between the social determinants of health and health system function.

John Grundy is an immunization and health systems development specialist who has worked across the Asia Pacific with governments, international organizations, multi-lateral agencies, civil society, academia, and global health initiatives. Main countries of work experience include Mongolia, DPR Korea, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Timor-Leste and Australia. He acted as chair of the Independent Review Committee of the Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunization in Geneva between 2012 and 2014, and is currently engaged in advisory positions with international organizations on primary health care at regional and global level. His current position is Adjunct Associate Professor College of Public Health, Medicine and Veterinary Science James Cook University Australia.
