About

Letitia completed her studies at the University of Melbourne, focusing on human disease, genetics and immunology. She subsequently worked in the Genetic Epidemiology Laboratory under the supervision of Prof Melissa Southey. During this time she investigated the genetic causes of breast, ovarian, colorectal and prostate cancers within various population- and clinic-based studies. Methodologies involved gene sequencing, SNP analysis and detection of large genetic alterations (deletions/insertions).

In 2013, Letitia joined the laboratory of Prof Alan Baxter in the Comparative Genomics Centre. She is currently working on a project with Dr Margaret Jordan investigating gene expression in immune cells in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) using microarray technology.
