Dr Ravinder Kumar received his bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and a master’s degree in biotechnology from CCS University, Meerut, India. He has a PhD in Energy & Environmental Engineering from University Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia. His PhD was focused on developing novel cathode catalysts for electricity production in microbial fuel cells. Dr Kumar has another PhD from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. His project focused on developing heterogeneous catalysts for bio-oil upgrading during biomass pyrolysis, using different new strategies for enhanced bio-oil deoxygenation, and increasing the content of hydrocarbons. Currently, Dr Kumar is working as a postdoctoral research fellow at the College of Science & Engineering, James Cook University, Australia. He has been working on a research project that aims to identify different organic contaminants in biosolids and demonstrate the application of thermochemical techniques to mitigate them. During the short span of his research career, he has produced more than 35 research articles in high impact journals. His work has achieved 1460 citations with an h-index of 19.
