Dr Taha Chaiechi is an Associate Professor of Economics in the College of Business, Law and Governance where she is also Australia Director, Centre for International Trade and Business in Asia (CITBA). Since the beginning of her academic career at James Cook University in July 2009, Taha has always served the university in different capacities. Her service to the university can be demonstrated through involvement in leadership roles. She was the Academic Head, Economics and Marketing for over 4 years (2014-2019), she had been the Course Coordinator, Master of Economics since Jan 2015 to 2020. She served JCU as Acting ADLT for CBLG (7-months) and an Acting Dean (4-weeks). She has served on numerous internal JCU Committees. She also has served the Australian Research Council (ARC) as a detailed assessor in the National Intelligence and Security Discovery Research Grants (NISDRG) program and the National Competitive Grants Program (NCGP). Currently, Taha serves JCU as an Expert Member of the Academic Board and Australia Director for  (CITBA).  She is also Founding Editor/Editor-in-Chief (EIC), Journal of Resilient Economies, and Associate Editor-in-Chief, Bulletin of Applied Economics (ABDC ranked).
