I am an Associate Lecturer in Field education on the Cairns campus and am responsible for locating and establishing field placement opportunities, linking students to placements and supporting students, field educators and organisations.

I have a keen interest in the use of technology to support students engagement with their studies and am involved in a TLD project that is looking at the implementation of eportfolios as an assessment tool for social work field education.

In my Honours research I explored social workers experience of using information technology to build social capital in rural and remote areas. I also have investigated how to operate effective and inclusive volunteer programs.  I am currently studying a PhD atJames Cook University on the topic of Exploring the Development of Critical Reflection and Lifelong Learning Skills through E-Portfolios. I have presented my research at Australian Association of Social Work, Australian Collaborative Education Network and QCOSS Conferences.
