Yvonne Thomas is an occupational therapist, researcher and academic with a passion for social inclusion and occupational wellbeing. Her doctoral research explored the link between occupation (the things that people need and want to do) and wellbeing, in people experiencing homelessness. Her other research interests are broadly related to health service provision in tropical, rural and remote areas with a specific interest in culturally approrpiate practice with Indigenous Australians.

Yvonne has published in her research areas and in the area practice education (fieldwork) placements. She has been a profesional eader in advocating for role emerging practice placements to expand the scope of occupational therapy practice to improve wellbeing. In addition Yvonne has worked in International community development in Vietnam and Papua New Guinea.
