Streetlight traffic detection - preliminary test 3

This repository contains data from a preliminary test of commodity sensors in the context of traffic detection.

Three sensor technologies (passive infrared motion detection, sonar, and optical flow) were trialled to determine if they could detect pedestrian and vehicular traffic from an overhead position approximately 5 metres above the road surface. Sensor events were time-correlated with video footage to establish if the reported events corresponded with vehicles or were merely random.

Data includes video footage of test (MP4 format),  controller code for the ITEAD WBoardPro Arduino platform and supported sensors (INO file), field report from testing, which includes basic setup information and comments to conditions and problems encountered during the test period (Markdown format) and the data file showing sensor events and their timestamps (Open Document Format)

Attachment Traffic_Test_03_Pole_mount_2015.05.22.zip Video footage of test. Camera was mounted to the same pole as the sensors.
Attachment Traffic_Count_Test_3_2015.05.22_1529.ods Data file showing sensor events and their timestamps. Video events have also been catalogued manually and correlated with sensor events to ground truth the sensor and establish if the sensor is valid for pedestrian detection.
