Australia Wet Tropics decadal climate change predictions (~250m resolution)

Spatial surfaces of climate change projections representing 30yr climate averages for each decade from present to 2080. The data represent individual realizations of upto 8 global climate models for each of 3 emission scenarios defined by the IPCC 2007.

Future climate layers consisted of climate surfaces for ten year intervals between 1990 and 2080. The future climate surfaces were based on the IPCC Special Report on Emission Scenarios (SRES) scenario A1B, B2 & A1. Future climate surfaces were based on eight global circulation models (GCM), some with multiple realisations (details are with each of the data surfaces). Note: any analysis should be weighted by the number of realisations per GCM to remove any possible GCM-specific bias. Baseline climate surfaces for these were from ANUCLIM 6.1 software with a climate baseline of 1975-2005. The climate layers were created using the “climates” package in R (VanDerWal et al., 2011), and are equivalent to the bioclim variables derived using Anuclim 5.1 software (Hutchinson et al., 2000). The derived bioclimatic variables represent: BIO1 = Annual Mean Temperature BIO2 = Mean Diurnal Range (Mean of monthly (max temp - min temp)) BIO3 = Isothermality (BIO2/BIO7) (* 100) BIO4 = Temperature Seasonality (standard deviation *100) BIO5 = Max Temperature of Warmest Month BIO6 = Min Temperature of Coldest Month BIO7 = Temperature Annual Range (BIO5-BIO6) BIO8 = Mean Temperature of Wettest Quarter BIO9 = Mean Temperature of Driest Quarter BIO10 = Mean Temperature of Warmest Quarter BIO11 = Mean Temperature of Coldest Quarter BIO12 = Annual Precipitation BIO13 = Precipitation of Wettest Month BIO14 = Precipitation of Driest Month BIO15 = Precipitation Seasonality (Coefficient of Variation) BIO16 = Precipitation of Wettest Quarter BIO17 = Precipitation of Driest Quarter BIO18 = Precipitation of Warmest Quarter BIO19 = Precipitation of Coldest Quarter REFERENCES Hutchinson M.
