About

Dr. Neto joined the College of Medicine and Dentistry in 2023 and has been appointed the discipline lead in Periodontology. He was granted the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Dental School of Araçatuba – São Paulo State University (UNESP), followed by a Master’s degree in Odontology (Main area Periodontology). Dr. Neto moved to Australia to pursue his dream of completing a PhD in a reputable overseas university in 2018 as a Visiting Researcher and concluded his PhD at Griffith University, also in Periodontology. Dr. Neto was awarded of highly competitive and prestigious scholarships, the Griffith University Postgraduate Research Scholarship (GUPRS) and the International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) to conduct his research project on Pathogenic interplay between periodontitis and Inflammatory bowel disease.  He is member of the Brazilian Group for the Study of Lasers in Dentistry and Trainee in the Department of Basic Sciences of the Faculty of Dentistry of Araçatuba since 2011, developing research with emphasis on osteobiology applied to dentistry, inflammatory and immune pathways in the pathogenesis of periodontal disease, tissue regeneration, low-level intensity laser therapy, biostimulation, antimicrobial photodynamic therapy and implantology. Dr. Neto also has experience with systematic review and meta-analysis, animal studies and clinical trials.
