Nanette Hooker is a Curator of the JCT Herbarium, which occurs in Townsville, Room 230 Building 34. She is a botanist and a specialist in grasses in north Queensland.
Nanette has written many books on grasses, the latest one is "Grasses of Townsville", found here https://researchonline.jcu.edu.au/81169/. The aim of this book is to help students, researchers, conservationists and anyone else who is interested in the Poaceae family.
Grasses (Poaceae) are the world’s single most important source of food. They rank among the top five families of flowering plants in terms of the number of species, but they are clearly the most abundant and important family of the earth's flora.
