JCU Role: I am the HDR Innovation and Industry Lead at James Cook University (JCU), where I connect academia, research development, and industry to create and support a vibrant innovation ecosystem. With over 20 years of experience as an inventor, innovator, and entrepreneur at Aramco, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in human-machine interface, artificial intelligence, and industry/business development across the JCU campuses. Mission: to develop exemplary researchers, next-gen innovators, and startup founders who can contribute to economic growth and job creation in the region. I do this by designing and delivering solutions and programs such as the IMPACT 10X simulator, the Founders-in-Residence portfolio, the Venture Growth Consultancy, and the Lab 2 Market initiative. I also share my insights and learnings through publications and speaking engagements. I am proud to have a portfolio of 60 granted patents, 15 prototypes, 47 publications, and 25 local, regional, and global awards. I am also a board member and Director of the Cairns AI Hub, a platform that connects, promotes, and grows the capability of artificial intelligence across Queensland.

- Summary
- The TNQ Agricultural Innovation Hub is anchored as part of the established TNQ Drought Hub and will sit within the JCU ideas Lab in Cairns ? on the traditional land of the Yirrganydji people. Under the TNQ Agricultural Innovation Hub (as part of the broader TNQ Drought Hub) JCU will bring together producers, agriculture companies, supply chain businesses, innovators, start-ups, investors, and researchers to drive agricultural innovation in Northern Australia. The TNQ Agricultural Innovation Hub can also leverage the expertise of JCU?s Innovation Advisory Committee (IAC) and Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) as/when required to support new project concepts.
