Background
Strategy, rapidity in changes to the world of work, risk management and learning and development (industry, TAFE and University) inform my knowledge base. Capabilities have broadened in recent times to encompass work at the intersection of disruptive technologies and the 'internet of things' impact on people and their working life. Secondly, international trade linkages between Australia and China. This research spills over into the issue of foreign ownership of Australian assets/companies - in particular, agriculture.
An MBA and Ph.D augment base electrical qualifications. The thesis researches organisational development, based around the theories and organisational models of Elliott Jaques coupled with change management based on Kotter's 8 step template. Conzinc Riotinto of Australia with its Iron Ore mines and Comalco with its Australian Bauxite, Alumina and Aluminium operations were the testbeds for the research. CRA/Comalco in 2020 is now known as Rio Tinto. The working background has been in the Energy, Mining, Sugar and University sector.
Currently a Senior Fellow of the Global Society for Science-Based Management (Canada/USA) and Director of Paul Lynch & Associates. Academically I hold an 'Adjunct Research Fellow' role with the Cairns Institute at James Cook University, Cairns Campus. Previous Board positions were chair of the Vocational Partnership Group, non-executive board member of Cairns Regional Group Training and the Police Citizens Youth Group Cairns (PCYC). Executive board member of Sugar North Ltd and independent director of Tully Sugar Limited (100% owned by COFCO China).
I am a conference paper submission reviewer for the Academy of Management (AOM) annual conference (2020 conf in Vancouver), Journal article reviewer for Common Ground Publishing and Book proposal reviewer for Routledge Publishers.
